The Anuga Gourmet Festival is taking place for the second time this year. The event's initiators DEHOGA, City-Marketing Köln, and many restaurants and individual retailers, have created a programme focusing on the joys of eating and drinking that is in keeping with the motto ‘Enjoyment for all the senses’.
The culinary journey began on Tuesday, 4 October and is touring the top addresses in the Cologne catering and retail scenes before concluding on Friday, 14 October. The programme is offering guests and gourmets delights from kitchens and wine cellars. The offerings include regional specialities and delicious fare from all over the world, ranging from fine herbs and spices to great wines, meat products from animals raised in the region, seductive chocolates, selected cheese specialities and menus specially created for autumn. One of the highlights was Shopping Night on 8 October, which featured gourmet islands and Italian flair in the centre of Cologne.
Museums are also be taking part – the Chocolate Museum with its chocolate workshop and the Museum of Applied Art with the exhibition ‘Reihenhausmannskost’ (Dining in suburban terrace houses).
