Jorgenson’s Distillery is the first South African Distillery to produce vodka. Situated in Weliington, the small distillery is owned by husband and wife Roger and Dawn Jorgenson.
With a background in wine and Savingnac Potstill brandy making, Roger Jorgenson decided to concentrate on handcrafted spirits and the distillery now produces Primitiv Vodka, Field of Dreams Absinthe, Savingnac Potstill brandy, and soon to be released Jorgenson’s Gin.
All ingredients are locally sourced and much of the herbs are grown on the Jorgenson farm, Versailles. To read more, look out for the feature on SA’s first vodka produces in the February issue of Food Review.
