Nederburg wins big, twice in one day!

On the same day Nederburg learned its 2009 Private Bin Eminence had been judged the wine of the show at the 2011 Five Nations Wine Challenge announced in Sydney, the winery also discovered it had won three Grand d’Or and 11 gold medals at the 2011 Michelangelo International Wine Awards, announced in the Cape.

Symrise - the first flavours and fragrances house to set up production in Russia

Symrise, the fourth largest flavours and fragrances house in the world, has recently become the first such company to start production of flavours in Russia. The new site in Rogovo, near Moscow, will not only give Symrise better access to manufacturers in Russia, but will enable it to serve countries to the south and west of Russia which are not easily accessible from its other sites in Europe and Asia.

A busy Propak Cape, including IPSA's Gold Pack Awards

The 2011 Propak Cape exhibition is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 25-27 October and will feature a gala awards dinner at which the Gold Pack Awards will be announced. The event will be held at the CTICC on 25 October, where the awards will be presented to this year's winners by the Institute of Packaging SA.

SA's olive oils do well at SA Olive's annual award ceremony

Half a dozen extra virgin olive oils from the 2011 vintage were heralded as South Africa’s top achievers during SA Olive’s annual award ceremony, at the end of August. Heineken global net profits down but Sub-Saharan Africa is safe
