The Sacmi group showcased its complete range of solutions for the closures and beverage industries at Food & Drink Technology (FDT) Africa 2018. The biennial event took place from 4 to 6 September at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.
The group has extensive experience in the country through its Sacmi South Africa branch, which provides sales support and assistance.
The division primarily focussed on its new offerings, from its compression technology to complete integrated pellet-to-pallet PET processing solutions.
Sacmi’s cap and preform manufacturing machines took centre stage at stand 145. Via an automatic CPB Link magazine, these technologies integrate downstream with complete blowing, filling and container labelling solutions.
The new Sacmi HeroLINE provides greater logistic efficiency, reduces consumption and optimises production performance. Also available in the new HeroBlock configuration, this solution represents the very best from Sacmi.
It has also succeeded in transferring all the advantages of compression technology to container production. A key example is compression blow forming, an innovative solution allowing manufacturers to produce lighter, high performance and quality containers at lower cost. This cutting-edge solution combines the very best characteristics of alternative technologies and is gaining traction in key markets, especially in the dairy sector. There was a focus on inspection and quality control systems, which continue to play a crucial role in the food and beverage industries. These systems are configured to give customers total quality control at every stage of production. They also allow for the implementation of advanced remote control functions via any corporate network connected device.
The group has been winning over the dynamic African market with its offerings that range from initial design to after-market solutions.
Sacmi continues to invest in Africa, which is already a key market for complete PET processing solutions.
