The latest in automation on show at the Africa Automation Fair

The Africa Automation Fair South AfricaAdvanced automation solutions for every area of process control were on show at the Africa Automation Fair (AAF) and Connected Industries conference recently. The event took place from 6 to 8 June at the Ticketpro Dome in North Riding.

The show was staged alongside Pollution Waste and Technology Africa. This gave stakeholders hands-on access to and demonstrations of the latest advanced automation, IIoT and Industrie 4.0 solutions.

AAF included an exhibition area showcasing the latest international automation solutions. It further featured on-going talks, product launches and technology demonstrations at three sponsor and exhibitor theatres over three days.

Show highlights

The latest radar solutions from Vega Controls SA were among the exhibitor highlights.  The company demonstrated the ‘world’s first’ radar level sensor for liquids.

Omron’s latest EtherCat solutions IOT devices took centre stage at the company’s stand. A new EtherCat module was launched. Omron also focussed on its Sysmac motion solutions comprising robotics and visual inspection control.

The future

IIoT and Industrie 4.0 focussed exhibitors and industry experts provided insight on future-proof technologies set to revolutionise the sector.

The Pollution Waste and Technology pavilion extended the reach of the show, which covered a vertical that has become closely integrated with automation.

Vega Controls SA, Pepper+Fuchs and Rockwell Automation were platinum sponsors of the Connected Industries conference where Industrie 4.0 potential and challenges were discussed.
