The marketing team of Infixion Media announced this year’s winners of the SA Food Review/Symrise New Product Competition at a glittering gala event held last week at the Mount Nelson in Cape Town. The panel of judges unanimously agreed that the ready-to-eat chicken mayonnaise range from Nola Mayonnaise was the runaway leader as the overall 2012 winner. The individually packaged portions, marketed by Foodcorp, were declared convenient, delicious and decidedly innovative.

1st runner up: Woolworths 100% Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
2nd runner up: Willow Creek Estate Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Range Winner: Ouma Rusks
1st runner up: Woolworths Easy to Cook Meat Roast Range
2nd runner up: Madécasse Chocolate
Packaging winner: Ouma Rusks
This year’s competition was outstanding in every way, from the increased number of entrants, to the distinguished panel of judges, and to the organisation and staging of the event. Apart from the coveted trophy, the winners won a trip to Anuga 2013 (including return airfare, accommodation and entry to the show), which is being held in Cologne, Germany from 5-9 October next year.
Last year’s NPC winner, Stream Drinks, will be accompanying SA Food Review to SIAL at the end of October. Read more about the global food fair in the November edition.
