Badsberg bottles their General

Badsberg Wine Cellar, situated outside Rawsonville in the Breedekloof Wine District in the Western Cape, won the General Smuts Trophy during 2016’s South African Young Wine Show for their 2016 Badsberg Pinotage. After six months of aging in French oak barrels, the wine is now available.

What makes this award so special?

The South African National Wine Show Association annually hosts the SA Young Wine Show, dating back to 1833, to award the top wines of the current vintage. The General Smuts Trophy is awarded to the best young wine, chosen from 1868 entries from wineries across South Africa.

The wine
