Mauritian-born Florence Douteau was recently appointed by Boxmore Packaging as business development manager for its Mauritian operation. With a clear mandate to develop a new customer base in the Indian Ocean Islands for the leading packaging solutions business, Douteau aims to focus on building relationships and maintaining customer loyalty.
Boxmore Packaging’s group sales director, Sharin Sweet comments: ‘Douteau possesses all the qualities we were looking for when appointing for this role. She is enthusiastic, creative, goal-driven and self-motivated. Her work experience, combined with her knowledge of the local market, promises to position her as a valuable addition to our team.’
Douteau has worked on a portfolio comprising more than 30 different types of products, ranging from FMCG to hardware. She made the move to Boxmore Packaging with a desire to focus her efforts on one type of product. ‘The packaging industry is an interesting one and I’m very excited about the potential for Boxmore in the local market,’ she says. ‘Having worked in the Indian Ocean Island for more than seven years, I have key insights into developing a sustainable competitive advantage and look forward to exercising that.’
Boxmore Packaging started up a PET pre-form production facility in Port Louis, Mauritius 14 years ago. It also has manufacturing sites in Mauritius, Zambia and South Africa. It supplies pre-forms, bottles, jars, lids and closures to a broad spectrum of FMCG categories and leading brands.
