The customer focused solutions provider of machines primarily for the FMCG and pharmaceutical markets, celebrates its 55th anniversary this year.
The company has evolved as a strong market competitor. In 1963, Hauni South Manufacturing was established by Dr Kurt Koerber as the second overseas subsidiary of Hauni Werke, a German equipment manufacturer. He appointed an engineer, Franz Reiss, to oversee the company. Over the next 32 years, Hauni South Manufacturing expanded its facilities while undertaking major developments and production modifications for customers in the tobacco industry.
Reiss took ownership of the company in 1995 and renamed it Reiss Technology, commonly known as Reitech SA. A year later the company integrated into the South African Picardi Group.
Today, this exclusive agency business represents European engineering companies and their manufacturing equipment for the cosmetics, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, to name a few.
‘The technical services we offer are equally as important as selling machinery,’ explains Olaf Socher, Reitech SA’s sales manager. This ensures the performance of the equipment sold meets customers’ expectations.
‘We believe age symbolises consistency and longevity. With all this experience in supplying and servicing world class packaging machines, we’re able to increase overall equipment effectiveness, higher output rates and better product quality. This results in a faster return on investment for our customers,’ he concludes.
