The Granarie co. brand recently launched Air Baked Potato Crisps, a range of reduced fat potato chips, which will appeal to the healthier snack consumer. Healthier snacking is a high priority with the major snack food companies, especially with the growing overweight & obesity problem.
Nibbly Bits, the manufacturer of the brand, has a state of the art air popped crisp and rice cake production facility in Wellington.
Hot popped, never fried
“Our Air Baked Potato™ Crisps are 70% lower in fat than regular fried potato chips”
Instead of frying their potato crisps, the company prefers a more elegant approach; Potato granules go into their advanced poppers, which use a combination of air, heat and pressure to produce super-light crunchy potato chips. They are lightly coated with a waft of sunflower oil and a sprinkle of mouthwatering seasoning.
There are currently three delicious flavours to choose from:
- Sour cream & chives
- Wasabi Mayo and
- Mango Chutney
