Ingredion taps into trends at Gulfood Manufacturing 2018

Ingredion will be taking its Tour of Tasty Trends to this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai. Taking visitors to the stand on a journey of delicious discovery, a team of culinologists will present a selection of savoury products, snacks and dairy-based foods that tap into the latest consumer trends.

The Tour of Tasty Trends is designed to show food and drink manufacturers in the region how they can overcome demanding processing challenges and meet consumer and industry needs, while retaining the deliciousness of their products. Each of the culinary creations will incorporate new and existing ingredients such as highly functional starches and texturisers, hydrocolloids and clean label solutions.

Ingredion’s on-stand concepts will tackle challenges including specific health and nutrition requirements, affordability and attaining the perfect consumer-winning texture. Showcasing its portfolio of functional ingredient solutions, the menu includes a cost-effective beef burger, an indulgent fat-reduced cream cheese served with perfectly crispy crackers and a deliciously luxurious clean label chocolate and pistachio-flavoured cream pudding.

Esen Kural, regional sales manager, Ingredion Middle East, says: ‘The food and beverage sector is facing more challenging and diverse demands than ever before. Across the Middle East and Africa, extreme weather conditions, coupled with an increasing workforce shifting to more ready-to-eat and food-to-go products, present both a challenge and an opportunity for local and global producers.

‘In the dairy industry, we continue to see the dominance of indulgence but with a strong focus on texture. The rise in popularity of out-of-home bakery and snacks products also means manufacturers must be able to formulate products with longer shelf lives which can withstand temperature extremes while the market catches up with refrigeration and distribution facilities.

‘Underlying these trends, affordability and cost optimisation remain essential. By closely mimicking consumer-preferred texture attributes and enhancing performance, our ingredient solutions can help to optimise costs without sacrificing eating quality and visual appeal. Through the Tour of Tasty Trends, Ingredion will show how producers can deliver on the latest consumer trends without compromising on consumers’ eating experience.’

Taking place from 6-8 November 2018, Gulfood Manufacturing will host exhibitors from a total of 60 countries showcasing the latest industry developments. Ingredion’s team of experts will be on hand to discuss delegate’s food and beverage formulation and production challenges, showing how a combination of global reformulation expertise and a diverse range of highly functional ingredients can help meet the needs of the discerning, convenience shopper.
