Monkey Shoulder climbs to the top… again

Set out to create a liquid with the credentials of a great malt whisky, and the versatility to put it front and centre of the cocktail revolution, Monkey Shoulder has again been named the number one trending whisky brand by the Drinks International Annual Brands Report for 2018.

The Drinks International report bases its rankings on a poll, carried out in a hundred of the world’s top cocktail bars. Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Whisky, created by combining single malts from three of Speyside’s finest distilleries, not only retained its spot as the most trending whisky brand, but also made it into the world’s top three best selling brands – edged out from first place by the testament of only a single bar.

‘We’re really proud of the results,’ says Shaun Stemmett, South African Monkey Shoulder brand manager at Really Great Brand Company, ‘nowadays scotch is drunk in many ways from cocktail classics to modern mixes. Monkey Shoulder’s smooth and rich taste makes it perfect for mixing, and the brand’s playful attitude and commitment to the unconventional appears to be striking a chord with a new generation of whisky fans.’
