Showcasing efficiencies at SAPICS

ID-Logistics-SAPICSID Logistics South Africa, part of the global contract logistics company, will be exhibiting at SAPICS Conference 2016 for the first time to highlight its services, capabilities and innovations. 

Friedel Spies, newly appointed director: business development says, ‘The time is right to start engaging with the industry, seeing what innovations are out there, and showcasing our own. ID Logistics is at a critical point as it continues to expand in the chilled and ambient markets since it established its comprehensive and national network infrastructure to optimise Danone’s Southern African supply chain in 2012. We will showcase the implementation of our successful network of chilled and ambient capability in South Africa. This event will afford us an opportunity to further expand on some of our global success stories in other industries.’

As a relatively new player in the South African supply chain and logistics arena, ID Logistics aims to share its short term success achieved since inception in 2012. ‘The conference and exhibition will definitely provide us with an opportunity to network with industries outside of our current capabilities in the chilled and ambient warehousing and distribution markets, while sharing our expertise and highlighting learnings in establishing a world class network for Danone in 2012, Spies explains.

ID Logistics successfully launched its Atlas warehouse in Boksburg during 2015, and has since secured the contract for Mighty Meats, Mayo, Dairy Day, and Deneys Diaries, increasing their client base across the country. According to Spies, ID Logistics’ innovative solutions coupled with global expertise are designed to meet local clients’ current and future expansion programmes.

‘The vision and aim of IDL Fresh South Africa is to incorporate and embrace the group’s innovative approach so that customers can to benefit from new solutions, which not only enhance our services, but increase efficiencies and flexibility. This approach, coupled with our different product offerings, will differentiate us in a very competitive market,’ adds Spies. ‘Our goal is not restricted to operational excellence, but also anticipating customers’ future needs by means of delivering incremental technology innovations and breakthrough developments. Our recent double decker truck solution in South Africa is a good example.’
