Constantia Flexibles
Constantia Flexibles will close its flexible packaging plant in Romania. This will result in the loss of about 90 jobs, the company confirmed. The site, in Bucharest, is used to produce plastic film-based flexible packaging for the confectionery and processed food sectors. The company said closing the factory would help it ‘optimise its film-based flexible packaging manufacturing footprint in Europe.
Constantia Flexibles has successfully completed the acquisition of the South African flexibles packaging group Afripack, after receiving approval from the relevant anti-trust authorities.
Alexander Baumgartner (51) has assumed his role as CEO of flexible packaging company Constantia Flexibles as of 1 October 2015. He succeeds Thomas Unger, who had led the group as CEO since 2011.
Constantia Flexibles Group is strengthening its position in the sub-Saharan African growth market by acquiring Afripack.
