ADM expands its Hungary lab, doubling its size to enhance beverage innovation and meet growing demand for functional drinks.

Enhanced capabilities for on-trend beverage development

ADM, one of the global leaders in innovative solutions from nature, has announced the expansion of its customer creation and innovation center (CCIC) lab in Hungary. This strategic move strengthens ADM’s ability to deliver tailored beverage solutions for customers across Eastern Europe.

Now doubled in size, the expanded facility offers enhanced application resources and broadens ADM’s regional capabilities. This enables customers to accelerate the development of on-trend beverage concepts, including ready-to-drink products, coffee beverages, and functional wellness-focused drinks.

Rising demand for functional beverages

The expansion aligns with rising consumer demand for functional, low-sugar beverages. Industry forecasts predict Hungary’s non-alcoholic beverage segment, valued at US$3 billion in 2025, will grow at an annual rate of 3.5% through 2030, with foodservice segments experiencing significant momentum. By investing in its Hungary facility, ADM is well-positioned to help customers respond to these trends through localised expertise, technical support, and faster product development cycles.

Local expertise and global reach

“This investment reflects our commitment to helping customers innovate quicker by combining local expertise with ADM’s global flavour capabilities,” said Alexander Lichter, VP, Flavours EMEA. “The expanded facility will enable us to develop customised solutions that help beverage and foodservice brands meet growing consumer demand for great taste, convenience, and better-for-you products.”

Strengthen ADM’s network

The expansion also builds upon the recent launch of LaSavista®, ADM’s foodservice brand, which offers complete ingredient systems and tailored concepts for coffee, tea, and other beverage applications. Alongside ADM’s acquisition of Fuerst Day Lawson Limited (FDL) in the United Kingdom and the opening of a new flavour creation lab in South Africa, the strategic investment in the Hungary facility further strengthens ADM’s global flavour network. Together, these developments reinforce ADM’s position as a leading partner for beverage innovation, combining localised expertise with global capabilities.
