This innovative 750ml PET bottle combines sustainability, functionality, and efficiency, offering wine producers a lightweight, space-saving alternative to traditional glass bottles.
A game-changer in wine packaging
The Eco-Flat Wine Bottle is a groundbreaking solution for the wine industry. Weighing just 63 grams, it is up to 80% lighter than traditional glass bottles. This significant weight reduction not only lowers transport emissions but also reduces energy and resource consumption during production.
Made with recycled materials for a circular economy
The bottle is manufactured using Safripol’s AspireR25 rPET, which contains 25% locally sourced post-consumer recycled PET. This supports South Africa’s circular economy by creating demand for recycled materials and sustaining local recycling jobs.
Space-saving design for supply chain efficiency
The patented flat design by Packamama offers up to 40% better pallet space efficiency compared to glass bottles. This innovative shape allows for cross-packing and flat-packing, increasing transport density and significantly lowering logistics costs for wine producers.
Functional features for quality preservation
The Eco-Flat Wine Bottle is available in dead leaf green and clear, with multiple closure colour options. It features an integrated oxygen barrier, ensuring up to 24 months of shelf life, making it ideal for still and easy-drinking wines.

Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) demonstrate the Eco-Flat Wine Bottle’s clear environmental benefits, including reduced carbon emissions and energy use. This locally produced, scalable solution aligns with global trends in carbon reduction and responsible packaging. Its innovative design has already earned a nomination for a regional innovation award.
