Specialised exhibitions transitions to Montgomery Group Africa, streamlining operations and aligning regional teams for growth and innovation across the continent.

Montgomery Group Africa has announced an exciting change, transitioning from its former identity as Specialised Exhibitions. This rebrand reflects the consolidation of Montgomery Group’s regional divisions into one unified structure, creating a more dynamic and future-focused organisation. The new name signifies the company’s commitment to operational efficiency, regional collaboration, and strategic growth across Africa.
“By unifying our teams under one name, we’re building clarity, strength, and the agility needed to grow with purpose across all regions,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Montgomery Group Africa. The company’s core values of supporting its employees, partners, and stakeholders remain unchanged.
A bold move for a stronger future
This transformation is aimed at simplifying structures and aligning leadership under a single cohesive vision. Montgomery Group Africa intends to enhance collaboration, improve resource management, and enable faster decision-making. “The transition strengthens our ability to support regional teams, innovate, and create consistent growth opportunities across all markets,” adds Corin.
The change also coincides with Montgomery Group’s impressive milestone of 130 years in 2025. As the UK’s longest-standing independent events organiser, the fifth-generation family-owned business operates more than 50 events in 15 countries, supported by over 150 experienced event professionals. Montgomery Group’s mission remains focused on delivering world-class exhibitions that serve as vital platforms for industry connections, business opportunities, and community engagement.
Expanding the african footprint
Montgomery Group has been prominent in Africa since it launched Specialised Exhibitions in South Africa in 1968. Over the years, its reach has expanded with events across multiple countries, including Botswana, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Libya, and Zimbabwe, alongside a well-established portfolio of trade exhibitions in South Africa.
The rebranding consolidates all African operations under Montgomery Group Africa, in line with the company’s vision for ambitious growth across the continent. Leading this change is Gary Corin, who, in addition to his role as Managing Director for South Africa, has now taken on the role of Managing Director for West African events. Angela Kinyua continues to direct operations for East Africa alongside locally based teams.
“This new structure enhances collaboration across the region and allows us to channel our efforts to grow and deliver impactful events in each market,” says Corin.
World-class events portfolio
Propak Africa, encompassing Propak Cape, Propak West Africa, and Propak East Africa, will continue to lead as the largest packaging, plastics, printing, food processing, and labelling exhibitions across the continent. Additionally, key regional events such as Securex Expo, A-OSH Expo, and Facilities Management Expo will sustain their focus on safety and fire industries.
Montgomery Group will also expand its presence in East and South Africa — with upcoming launches, including the Fire Expo in Cape Town this October, complementing its existing Johannesburg editions.
Consistency across regions
The Montgomery Group Africa team is driving efforts to ensure seamless branding and operational consistency across markets. Regional marketing teams are collaborating to roll out communications under the Montgomery Group Africa umbrella, maintaining a unified identity while incorporating local insights.
This name change does not affect day-to-day business operations. Registered entities, invoicing, and banking details remain unchanged, ensuring uninterrupted relationships with clients and partners.
Building on tradition, looking to the future
“This transition marks a significant milestone in our company’s evolution,” adds Corin. “We are laying the foundation for long-term growth, innovation, and our ability to create meaningful impact for the communities we operate in.”
Montgomery Group Africa’s rebrand highlights a bold commitment to empowering teams, delivering industry-leading events, and unlocking new opportunities across Africa.
