Founded in 1946, PROVA is a medium-sized family-owned company that specialises in the production of sweet brown extracts and flavours. The invention was based on a patent for the extraction of oil-soluble vanilla in Montreuil, Paris. PROVA’s global headquarters are in France along with production, packaging capabilities and a research center. PROVA began its international expansion very early with distribution subsidiaries and flavour application laboratories in European countries and in other regions like America and Asia. The latest such subsidiary is PROVA South Africa which was founded in 2021. Prior to the creation of the subsidiary, Prova’s footprint has been present for more than 15 years, when the company was represented by an agent.

Prova is one of the leaders of extraction of extraction of vanilla and cocoa in the food and beverage industry. In addition, the company produces coffee, caramel, nut, organic & sustainable, functional solutions, milk notes and gourmet creations. These flavours are used in various applications from bakery, cereals, chocolate, dairy, beverages and nutritional supplements. The list continues when it comes to what the company can do through its creativity.

Raw materials with innovative solutions

The company offers solution-based flavours that can assist with cost-in-use, for example, chocolate flavours that can partially replace cocoa powder in application to assist with the fluctuating prices of cocoa powder. With plant-based proteins becoming popular, and known to have undesirable notes, PROVA has developed natural masking flavours to overcome these challenges that provide a desirable taste.
